The Samburu 

Around 100 kilometers of travel on the southern bank of the northern Ewaso Ngiro River is the traditional Samburu territory which is home to the largest Nile crocodiles’ population and is second more visited place for safari holidays in Kenya. Locals of this region are migrated camel-herders who have been living here for centuries. It is home to the semi-desert rugged park, the Samburu National Reserve known for its distinguished characteristic with branching out thick riverine acacia forest stands. These stands serve as a hide-out place for preys and predators. The Ewaso Nyrio River being the lifeline of this region gives rewarding viewing on game drives with crocodiles, hippos and elephants sharing the river during the heat of the day.
