Tarangire National Park, Is located in northern part of Tanzania, most of the Lodges and camps in that area are 2 hours drive from Arusha Town lodges and camps.
There are two main airports within Tanzania that offer connecting flights to Arusha Town; Julius Nyerere International in Dar Es Salaam (DAR) and Kilimanjaro International (JRO).
Kilimanjaro International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including Qatar Airways, Kenya Airways, Rwanda Airways, KLM, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines. From there we will provide with a land transfer to Arusha town depends on the time of arrival you may start your Safari by proceeding Tarangire National but over night in Arusha is highly recommended. we would be happy to assist you with making airport transfer and overnight accommodation arrangements in Arusha before departing for you Safari to Tarangire next day.
Jomo Kenyatta International airport, in Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), also offers numerous connections throughout the day to Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO). Jomo Kenyatta International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including British Airways, Air France, United Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Delta, Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines and Etihad.
Jomo Kenyatta International airport, in Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), offers a wide number of international flight connections and from there, you may transit on to Tanzania via numerous connections throughout the day to Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO). If your international flight lands into Nairobi before 7:00 am, you may have the option to connect onto a flight to Arusha or you can board a short flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. For arrivals into Nairobi later in the day, it is possible to board a late afternoon flight to Kilimanjaro International, from where our Safari Advisors would be happy to assist you with making airport transfer and overnight accommodation arrangements in Arusha. Alternatively, you may choose to stay the night in Nairobi and board the early morning flight to Kilimanjaro International to connect land transfer to Tarangire or Arusha for Overnight. If your international flight arrives into Nairobi by early afternoon, there is also the option to charter a private flight directly to Tarangire the same day (see Charter Flights below).
Most of our packages includes land transfers to Tarangire on this route due to its nature and as part of the Safari experience.
Julius Nyerere International is serviced by a number of international airline carriers, including Emirates, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Swiss, South African Airlines and KLM. For international flight arrivals before 7.30am, it is possible to board a connecting flight to Arusha Airport from the airport's domestic terminal (five minute taxi ride from the international terminal), with a flight time of approximately two hours. Alternatively, connecting domestic flights are available to Kilimanjaro International (listed above).
A choice of private charter aircraft are also available for all of the above mentioned flight routes to allow direct connections to Tarangire without any other stops en route. Charter flights offer the comfort of a private, pressurized cabin, no weight restriction for luggage and may land at Tarangire any time during daylight hours (sunset falls between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm seasonally). Local airlines include Air Excel, Coastal Aviation, Regional Air, Auric Air and Flightlink . These airlines use Cessna Grand Caravans or similar aircraft, which carry 9 to 13 passengers. Luggage is restricted to 15 kg per passenger and must be carried in soft sided bags or suitcases (no hard shell cases).
