Airport to the Angama Mara Airstrip where you’ll be met by a Vencha
representative and transferred to Angama Mara, a luxurious lodge that perches on the edge of the Great Rift
Valley. Experience your first game drive en route, with the opportunity to spot
some of the myriad wildlife that calls the Maasai Mara “home”.
After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll depart on a full-day game drive through the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Go in search of lion prides, elusive cheetahs and herds of elephants, as well as hippos wallowing in the waterways. If you’re visiting during the annual migration, you may be lucky enough to see the herds of wildebeest and zebras traversing the grassy plains, framed by the Mara and Talek rivers. Return to the camp in the evening, with time to freshen up before dinner is served.
Begin the day with a freshly brewed coffee or tea delivered direct to your tent, then depart on an early morning game drive to the hot air balloon launch site. After a short briefing, you’ll be airborne and slowly floating above the Maasai Mara’s breathtaking landscapes, enjoying a bird’s eye view of the herds moving below. Upon landing, enjoy a celebratory champagne breakfast in the bush while being surrounded by the reserve’s resident wildlife.
You’ll then have the option to continue game driving or return to the camp where you can wildlife spot from the comfort of Angama Mara’s deck. Watch herds of elephants, buffalos and giraffes moving 300 metres below, with complimentary binoculars so you can get an up-close view of all the action. In the late afternoon, you’ll have the option to embark on a nature walk or head to a nearby Maasai community as part of a cultural visit.
