2 Nights - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll begin the drive to
Tarangire National Park, which is famed for boasting the largest concentration
of elephants in the world. It also has a staggering population of breeding bird
species, with more than 550 having been recorded here. During the dry season,
Tarangire National Park is a wildlife paradise, with sightings of big cats such
as lions, cheetahs and leopards, as well as more elusive species such as kudu,
oryx and gerenuk. After an exhilarating day’s game drive, you’ll head to the camp in the late afternoon where you can freshen up before
dinner is served.
Next day wake early for a morning game drive through Tarangire National Park while the wildlife is at its most active, with a picnic breakfast served along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for four of the Big Five, as well as the unique tree-climbing pythons that inhabit the reserve. You’ll return to the camp for lunch, then depart on a two-hour walking safari to get a completely different perspective on this wilderness area. Track wildlife on foot and experience the bush as the animals would see it through sight, sound and smell. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner, then head out again after dark for a night game drive. This is an exciting opportunity to discover some of Tarangire’s nocturnal species, including porcupines, pangolin and aardvark.
